Cross-Cultural Issues in Conflict

Examine the roles culture and diversity play in conflict and conflict resolution. Participants will learn to understand how differences are perceived in conflict exchanges. Activities focus on cross-cultural communication techniques to enhance conflict resolution. Dispute resolution methods, perception process and attribution theory are key discussion points.

Effective March 16, 2020, the educational programs scheduled to be delivered at our New York City facility will be moved to virtual delivery, where possible, or rescheduled. For those programs that do not lend themselves to a distance-education format, we will postpone them until we receive guidance from the University and public health officials that it is safe to hold those programs in-person. This workshop provides a detailed examination of the role culture plays in conflict and conflict resolution. Participants will learn to understand and anticipate cultural differences in conflict exchanges. Discussions and workshop activities will focus on cross-cultural communication techniques to enhance conflict ressolution.
