A number of worker populations that may be particularly vulnerable to threats from climate change include outdoor workers, first responders, farmers, commercial fishermen, healthcare workers, transportation workers, and workers in hot indoor environments such as warehouses and factories. This webinar will explore some of the effects climate change is anticipated to have on the health and safety aspects of workplaces.

  • Exposure to extreme heat and/or cold and prolonged work in these environments
  • Amplification of known safety and health hazards such as severe weather events, heat, wildland fire, and infectious diseases
  • New, unanticipated, or unrecognized hazards (increased infectious disease vector ranges, increased pesticide use)
