Background:
- Created the Guardian Angels in 1979, an organization dedicated to combatting violence and crime in the City. It has spread to over 130 cities across 13 countries.
- In 1992, received the Courage of Conscience Award from the Peace Abbey at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston for his work with the Guardian Angels.
- Radio broadcaster on WABC-AM since 1990.
