Background:

• Created the Guardian Angels in 1979, an organization dedicated to combatting violence and crime in the City. It has spread to over 130 cities across 13 countries.
• In 1992, received the Courage of Conscience Award from the Peace Abbey at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston for his work with the Guardian Angels.
• Radio broadcaster on WABC-AM since 1990.

• To encourage business activity, create a small business loan program that offers low value loans to small businesses in lower and middle income neighborhoods.
• Build a stronger relationship between the City government and private sector by creating an Entrepreneurs and Small Business Council.
•  Revive and expand the NYC Business Express Initiative, which would provide people with information about starting a business.
• Streamline the business permit and license process.
