Cannabis Careers for Justice-Impacted

Union Strong Podcast Ep 59: Adult-Use Cannabis – Building a new industry from the ground up in a way that will raise revenue, create good union jobs, and address social, racial, and economic equity.

The legalization of adult use cannabis has the potential of generating much needed revenue for states and municipalities and creating good jobs in multiple areas of the industry.  It often also provides opportunities for individuals and communities disproportionately affected by the War on Drugs to benefit from records remediation and distribution of social equity funds.

Listen to this podcast from the NYS AFL-CIO with guests are Nikki Kateman, the Political and Communications Director at Local 338 of the RWDSU/UFCW and Timothy McNutt, a former prosecutor who is now the Director of Criminal Justice and Employment Initiative at ILR, who discuss issues related to efforts in NYS to legalize adult use cannabis.
