Why did you choose the MILR program?
I choose the MILR program because of the unique focus on the world of work, numerous opportunities to discuss modern HR practices with leaders in the field, the diverse curriculum, and renowned faculty. Additionally, I wanted to expand my global perspective and was attracted to the diverse student body.
What is your favorite part about the MILR program?
My favorite part of the MILR program is the sense of community among the students. Students are always willing to help each other, hang out, or take a spontaneous trip together.
What is your favorite class so far?
My favorite class has been HR Leadership: Views from the Top. The course focuses on developing soft skills to more effectively interact with line leaders and manage the HR function. Through readings, role plays, and scenario exercises, we learn about courage, relationship building, and influence. After seven years in HR, the course fundamentally changed the way I think about my work!

What was the highlight from your summer internship?
Interns from the MILR program are often trusted with impactful projects, and mine was no different! My primary project was to open pathways for diverse, high potential employees with the Airport Customer Service and Cargo division.
