Background and Previous Experience
Jae-Hyung Do is a professor in the School of Law at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. He also serves on the Adjudication Committee of the National Labor Relations Commission.
Professor Do holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Law from Seoul National University. Before he began working in higher education, he practiced law for seven years. During this period, he litigated labor and employment cases and advised labor unions in the financial and airline industries.
Professor Do's research focuses on how labor market flexibilization has affected labor law, how the court has acted in response to socio-economic change, and how the transition from informal to formal employment has been promoted.
Current Research at ILR
While visiting ILR, Professor Do will study the changing trend in labor cases as well as the mutual relationship between labor law and the socio-economic environment since the early 1990s. In addition, he will be working on his new book, the Revitalization of Korean Labor Law.
