Education: B.S. State University of New York at Albany, J.D. Hofstra Law School.

Background:

  • Served as Deputy Superintendent of Banks and Secretary of the Banking Board for New York State from 1983-1987.
  • Worked for various private firms such as Stern Brothers, Paine Webber, and Kidder Peabody.
  • Elected to New York City Council in 2001 representing the district 23. Served as Chairman of the Council's Finance Committee.
  • In 2010, elected to the New York State Assembly representing the district 24.

Employment Related Policies:

  • Create more housing by using the pension fund’s Economically Targeted Investments, partnering with the private sector to build more housing, which will create City jobs.
  • Establish a New American, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force that will examine and correct any shortcomings in access for underserved populations regarding capital and financial services. Also will work to improve contracting opportunities for MWBEs and seek to help immigrants build careers.
