Building a Clean Energy Economy: The Inflation Reduction Act and Workforce Development

To combat climate change, we must invest heavily in developing and retaining a well-trained, highly qualified workforce to install renewable energy sources, retrofit buildings, expand public transportation, and take on other critical tasks.

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build out clean energy and other climate-friendly measures and train new and existing workers for future opportunities.

The Cornell ILR Climate Jobs Institute webinar on January 11, 2023, will draw on the expertise of labor leaders, policymakers, and workforce development professionals to examine opportunities presented by the IRA and offer guidance on how to use these investments to build a diverse and equitable clean energy economy.

The speakers include Dawn Euer, Rhode Island's Senator, District 13; Kathleen Culhane, President of the Nontraditional Employment for Women; Leonard Aguilar, Secretary-Treasurer of the Texas AFL-CIO, and moderated by the Cornell ILR Climate Jobs Institute, Training and Education Associate, Zach Cunningham.

The webinar will begin at 1:00 PM EST. A link to register can be found here: https://ecornell.cornell.edu/keynotes/overview/K011123/
