Include work history and experience, skills and areas of expertise, personal achievements and any information that is pertinent to your application.

Transcripts

Please submit unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended. If you are admitted into the program you will be required to submit official transcripts to the Cornell University Graduate School.

You must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or an equivalent international degree. (See Cornell’s list of International Degree Equivalencies).

Letters of Recommendation

Submit two professional letters of recommendation. One must be from a direct supervisor who supports your enrollment, knows your abilities, can speak to your potential for advancement in HR, and confirms that you can obtain access and resources to complete your case project.  

Academic Statement of Purpose

Please use the Academic Statement of Purpose to describe, within 1000 words: (1) your academic interests, (2) your academic background, preparation, and training, including any relevant professional experiences, (3) your reasons for pursuing graduate studies in this specific program, and (4) your professional goals.

Personal Statement

The personal statement allows you to provide the admissions committee with a sense of who you are as a whole person, and you should use it to describe how your personal background and experiences influenced your decision to pursue a graduate degree. 

Application Fee

Submit a non-refundable application fee of $105 with your application.

Video Essay

Embedded in the application; no additional software required. If unsatisfied with the first response, applicants may re-record the response before submitting. 

Prompt: Residential sessions are a hallmark of EMHRM, where experienced professionals collaborate deeply and build lasting networks. In a 3–4 minute video response, describe what you will bring to your cohort during these sessions (a perspective, expertise, or lived experience) and how you expect to engage with and learn from your peers. As part of your response, reflect on one challenge in the evolving HR landscape (AI adoption, hybrid work, talent mobility, skill-based models, etc.) that you’re particularly motivated to explore with others, and why.

TOEFL or IELTS Scores

Required for all international students, unless you meet the criteria for an exception.
 

Note: Standardized test scores (GRE, GMAT, etc.) are NOT required for admission to this program.

EMHRM welcomes applicants from all over the world. However, individuals who would require immigration status and sponsorship to enter the U.S. for educational purposes are not eligible for this hybrid degree. Please note that no student status visas or student immigration documentation can be issued at this time. I-20s are not available for this program.
