Why did you choose the MILR program?

I chose the MILR program because of the wide breadth of curriculum offered. When I started looking into the program I was so impressed with the influence that the school has had in the world of work and I knew that it was the perfect place for me to pivot my career. I was especially drawn to the MILR program because of its holistic approach and practical application to real-world issues. It was a big decision to come back to school, but the MILR has been the best personal and professional decision I have made!

What is your favorite part about the MILR program?

I have had so much fun getting to know the other students in the cohort. They are truly an amazing group of people and everyone has such a unique background so I feel like I am learning from my cohort every day! I also love how much access we have to practitioners and corporate partners through the MILR program!

What is your favorite class so far?

I have been so impressed with the caliber of the courses and curriculum so this is a tough choice! Business Strategy & Finance has helped me develop my business acumen and also link people strategy to business strategy.  Also, Human Resource Management has laid a great foundation for developing critical thinking skills through a HR lens.

What is your favorite part of Ithaca?

I am truly enjoying living in the Finger Lakes, there really is so much to do. I love checking out the area wineries and hiking at nearby state parks and gorges.

What advice would you give a prospective student?

There are so many amazing resources in the ILR School and at Cornell so plan your time here accordingly! Two years may seem like a long time, but there are so many great courses, organizations and activities to get involved in that it will go by so quickly.

Where will you be interning next summer?

I am so excited to be a Human Resources Intern at Corning Incorporated next summer!
