Grace Titilawo

MILR/MBA, ’26

What originally drew you to the MILR program at Cornell?

I was drawn to the MILR program for its focus on people strategy, organizational design and leadership development within a business context. As someone who truly believes that investing in people yields the greatest returns, the program gives me the opportunity to put that belief into practice.

What is your favorite part of the MILR program?

I used to have a narrow idea of what HR professionals do, but my favorite part of the MILR program has been reframing that perspective, understanding that HR is not just a support function, but a true strategic partner. My classmates come from diverse backgrounds, and the professors bring years of wisdom and real-world insight. It’s the perfect environment to keep learning, growing and being pleasantly surprised.

How has the program prepared you for the next step in your career?

It’s strengthened my ability to think strategically about people and organizational challenges, preparing me for consulting and transformation work. Having exposure to diverse HR perspectives, conversations, and functional areas has deepened my understanding of how people’s strategy truly drives organizational success.

What is your favorite class, and why?

Staffing and Organization is my favorite class, it’s helped me understand how talent decisions and the thought process behind them directly shape business performance and long-term organizational success. The conversations are so incredibly engaging.

What tips would you give to incoming MILR students?

Get involved early, connect with classmates and show up. Start conversations, you never know, the person sitting next to you might have the coolest story and could end up becoming one of your closest friends.
