Simon Gim

Simon Gim is a PhD student in Human Resource Studies at the ILR School at Cornell University. He earned his MILR degree from Cornell University and completed his undergraduate studies at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU).

His research examines how organizational change, compensation systems, and institutional regulation shape careers and labor market inequality. Drawing on large-scale longitudinal and archival data, he studies how high-impact organizational events, such as corporatization and regulatory shifts, reshape career trajectories, wage structures, and turnover patterns over time.

At the Institute for Compensation Studies (ICS), Simon contributes to research on wage dynamics and occupational regulation in the veterinary industry. His applied work synthesizes national labor data to document patterns of wage stratification across veterinarians, technicians, and assistants, connecting compensation structures to broader questions of occupations and inequality.
