Erika Fagan

Director of Program Quality, Learning and Compliance, Solidarity Center

Erika Fagan is the Director of Program Quality, Learning and Compliance at the Solidarity Center, the largest U.S.-based international worker rights organization partnering directly with workers and their unions, and supporting their struggle for respect, fair wages, better workplaces and a voice in the global economy. In this role she leads strategic operational planning and risk management while fostering collaboration across teams to enhance learning and impact.  

She is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience working at mission-driven organizations committed to advancing worker rights, democracy and human rights globally. Before joining the Solidarity Center, Erika held senior roles at Counterpart International and human rights organization Freedom House, where she managed a portfolio of grants exceeding $190 million and led negotiations with major funders. She developed systems and frameworks that strengthened organizational accountability and program operations. Her thoughtful approach to donor engagement and her ability to find creative solutions within regulatory requirements have been key to navigating complex environments.

Erika’s career began with a passion for international engagement, sparked by her studies in Mandarin Chinese and deepened through experiences in China, Kenya, and South Africa. She holds a BA in East Asian Studies from The George Washington University and continues to apply her commitment to social justice to strengthen institutions and communities. Erika lives in Falls Church, VA, with her husband and two daughters.
