Lawrence Burgess

Lawrence Burgess is a proud Newark, New Jersey native, born and raised. He attended Madison Avenue Grade School and Bloomfield Vo-Tech High School, where he first discovered his passion for welding. After graduating, he pursued further education to become a certified welder.

Lawrence joined the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) as a glazing apprentice, gaining extensive hands-on experience across a variety of job sites. This practical experience led to his transition into an instructor role. After some time, he embraced a new position within the organization, continuing to contribute to the union’s growth and overall success.
