May Kyi

May Kyi is the Assistant Director of Growth Strategies at the AFL-CIO where she leads a team of strategic researchers and campaigners in support of affiliate unions’ organizing initiatives. She also leads Growth Strategies’ training and recruitment programs. Before coming to the AFL-CIO, May spent over a decade at SEIU 32BJ leading a team of researchers to develop and execute research-based strategies for low-wage worker organizing and contract campaigns. Prior to her work in labor, she worked as a private investigator. May holds a J.D. from the University of California – Hastings College of the Law and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
