Shane Stafford

Shane is the Director of Debate at The Blake School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has coached debate and speech for more than 40 years with multiple state and national championships in a variety of debate formats. Recently his teams won a fifth straight Minnesota state championship. Shane has qualified many teams to the Tournament of Champions and the NSDA national tournament.  Shane has coached at the high school and university level.  Shane is the recipient of many awards including the 2015 Minnesota Coach of the Year and he is a member of the Barkley Forum Gold Key coach society.  He has been active in coaching worlds debate including nine years as one of the head coaches for the USA development team. He has taught and/or directed several summer workshops including Cornell, Harvard, Dartmouth, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.
