Qixin Lin
Qixin Lin is a first-year Ph.D. student at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, advised by Professor John McCarthy. Her research investigates how digital platforms and emerging technologies transform work and employment relations, shaping skill formation, inequality, and workers’ experiences. Methodologically, she combines computational social science and mixed-method approaches, using large-scale text analysis, natural language processing, and large language models (LLMs) alongside statistical modeling to examine labor market dynamics and organizational change.
Before Cornell, Qixin earned her M.A. in Computational Social Science from the University of Chicago, where she worked with Professor James Evans at the Knowledge Lab. Her work seeks to advance equitable and data-informed policies that promote job quality and fair labor practices.
