Why did you choose the MILR program?

The unique opportunities to learn from and engage with ILR’s distinguished full-time faculty, alumni and CAHRs partners, influenced my decision to join the program. It was a space where I could see myself growing professionally and immersing myself into learning about my new career path. The program has not disappointed. I am more passionate than ever about the world of work and I have grown into a better leader and strategic partner through my experiences at the program.

What is your favorite part about the MILR program?

My peers and the MILR community have made my experience really special. My classmates are supportive in and out of the classroom, and I have made friends for life. The diversity of experiences in the program has been incredibly valuable in expanding my point of view. I am thrilled to have a peer network I can reach out to after the program to talk about new ideas and workplace trends.

What is your favorite class so far?

A favorite class of mine has been HR Research for Executive Decision-Making with Librarian Chris Miller. In the class, we have had the opportunity to answer research questions posed by Fortune 500 companies about current HR trends and challenges. The class has helped me develop a research-based approach to solving business problems.

What is your favorite part of Ithaca?

Some of my favorite activities in Ithaca are hiking at Robert H. Treman State Park, going on Seneca lake wine tours, eating Solaz breakfast burritos at the Farmers Market and strength training at Infinity Athletics.

What advice would you give a prospective student?

Take on classes or opportunities that may be out of your comfort zone but can help you build new competencies as a business or labor leader.

What was your summer internship company/location?

HR Intern at PepsiCo in Canton, Massachusetts.

What was the highlight from your summer internship?

A highlight from my summer was my ability to engage with many different functions within the organization. From going on driver route rides, to speaking with division VP’s about their 2020 priorities, each experience was fun, informative and helped develop my hands-on understanding of how the PepsiCo business works.

Where will you be working full-time after you graduate?

I will be joining PepsiCo full time in New Jersey as an HR Representative!
