Donna Ramil joins as the Associate Director of ILR International Programs and Student Services
Donna Ramil has been appointed as the Associate Director of International Programs and Student Services at the ILR School. She will take over the position on November 23, 2009.
As the Associate Director for International Programs, Donna will work towards generating more international opportunities (study abroad, internships, service learning and independent research) for the students. She will administer ILR's growing number of international agreements and will also handle ILR's international visiting fellow program.
As a part of her role in student services, she will be the key advisor for students seeking international opportunities.
Donna comes to us from a very successful stint at Cornell Career Services. She has had considerable success developing career opportunities for students through the Nonprofit and Government Career Fair, which she helped establish in 2003 and that annually draws about 60 employers. She has worked extensively with international students, and has collaborated with various organizations across campus such as CIEN, the ISSO and Cornell Abroad.
Donna has had diverse experiences, including a full-year study abroad at the University of Goettingen in Germany and working for the Peace Corps in the Philippines and with NGOs in India. She has lived in many different countries for a total of 15 years and has a deep appreciation and sensitivity to other cultures. She has a BA in Languages from the University of California (Riverside).
Donna will have an office in Ives 117, and will report jointly to the Chair of ILR International Programs (Sarosh Kuruvilla) and to the Director of Student Services (Laura Lewis). She replaces Robin Remick, who retired from ILR in June.
