Overview

The ILR School is proud to launch “The Robert and Nancy McKersie Labor Day Lecture,” a new annual event honoring the legacy of Robert B. McKersie, former dean of the ILR School, made possible through a generous gift from Bob and Nancy. During his tenure as dean from 1971 to 1979, McKersie helped shape a new generation of faculty whose rigorous social science approach helped redefine the study of industrial and labor relations, and continues to shape the ILR School today.

The inaugural lecture, McKersie on Labor at America's 250th, will be delivered by Dean Alexander Colvin, Ph.D. ’99, Kenneth F. Kahn ’69 Dean and the Martin F. Scheinman ’75, MS ’76 Professor of Conflict Resolution. Dean Colvin has spoken of McKersie’s lasting impact on the school, crediting him with building the faculty foundation that contributed to ILR’s success over the past half century. Join us in person or online via Zoom. Registration is required for Zoom attendance only.
