Travel Grant Application

About the ILR Conference Travel Grant

ILR doctoral students may apply for a conference travel grant if they are:

• presenting a paper or poster,
• participating in a professional panel related to their field of study,
• participating in a doctoral consortium or workshop, or
• attending a professional conference or meeting

Funding Tiers

• $2,000 for presenting a paper or poster, or participating in a panel, doctoral consortium, or workshop.
• $1,500 for attending a professional conference or meeting.

Eligibility

• Students may receive a maximum of $2,000 per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
• Awards are not guaranteed and may not be banked or carried over to a future fiscal year.
• Students may submit one application per fiscal year.
• The grant application date, not the travel or event date, determines the fiscal year in which an award is made.

Review and Processing

• Applications are reviewed once per month, generally around the 25th day.
• Processing may take up to two weeks after the review date. If you submit on the 2nd day of the month, it may take up to two weeks beyond the 25th day of the month to process, if awarded.
• Approved funds are processed to the student's bursar account no earlier than July 30th and no later than June 15th of the applicable fiscal year.

When to apply

• Travel early in the fiscal year: Submit your grant application on or just after July 1.
• Travel late int he fiscal year: Submit your application no later than May 15 to allow time for processing before accounts close for the year.
