The ILR School may award a travel grant to an ILR PhD student who is presenting a paper or poster, participating in a panel, doctoral consortium, or workshop, or attending a professional conference or meeting. The funding levels are as follows:
$2,000 for presenting a paper or poster, or participating in a panel, doctoral consortium, or workshop
$1,500 for attending a professional conference or meeting
A maximum of $2,000 may be awarded per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). There is no guarantee that an award will be made, and awards may not be banked or carried over from year to year.
Students may submit only one application per fiscal year. If a second application is submitted during the same fiscal year, it will not be processed, even if the travel takes place in the next fiscal year.
Students planning to travel early in any given fiscal year should submit their request on July 1 (the start of the new fiscal year). Applications are reviewed once per month. Any approved funds will be processed to the student’s bursar account no earlier than July 30 of that fiscal year, so we encourage students to plan accordingly.
