Outreach Statement

Outreach at the Yang-Tan Institute is conducted in many non-traditional formats, in multiple modalities, targeting a wide variety of audience members and key contributors. In keeping with knowledge translation frameworks, my work emphasizes integrating the context of the adult learner with effective practices in employment and disability, and involving the learner in the creation of educational content and materials whenever possible. This “bottom up” approach to can result in impactful and sustained change, and help to move people beyond ‘understanding and remembering’, to applying information in real world workplaces and systems.
