Spring Research Assistants

Welcome New CAHRS Research Assistants!

Introducing CAHRS Spring Research Assistants

CAHRS welcomes Research Assistants (RAs) Suyong Hwang (pictured left) and Laura Taba (pictured right), who will assist CAHRS with a Future of Work human resource project over the spring semester.

Suyong Hwang brings experience as a management consultant specializing in HR and organizational practices. At Mercer, he served as a trusted advisor to CEOs and CHROs of top-tier global companies and successfully led numerous projects across workforce architecture, digital HR transformation, performance management, and rewards. He is particularly interested in strategic HR management and human capital as key drivers of long-term organizational performance and success. During his time as a CAHRS RA, he aims to generate actionable insights and contribute to the effective and sustainable operations of CAHRS member companies.

Laura Taba brings experience advancing HR strategy, workforce development, and organizational change in retail and logistics environments, partnering with business leaders on talent, performance, and frontline workforce priorities. She has supported Learning and Development, process improvement, and change initiatives in operationally complex organizations, aligning people strategies with business needs. As a CAHRS Research Assistant, Laura is eager to contribute to research and high-impact projects addressing workforce challenges in the digital transformation era.

“We are very excited to have Laura and Suyong as CAHRS research assistants this spring," says CAHRS Academic Director and William J. Conaty Professor of Strategic Human Resources. Their work this semester will focus on leveraging the latest research and data to update the CAHRS Future of Work framework. The existing framework was developed by our CAHRS research assistants in 2020 and, although it has served us well, it is in need of updating. The insights that Laura and Suyong generate will help to shape the CAHRS agenda over the next few years as we look to stay ahead of emerging trends shaping the HR field."

Most recently, fall semester CAHRS RAs Haley Jackson and Hester Zhou focused on an assessment tool as it relates to the HRBP role, which will be part of the CAHRS HRBP Certificate Learning Series this spring.
