Vietnam Program Goes Virtual

The Scheinman Institute's Vietnam Program was conducted virtually this year due to the pandemic. Six ILR students participated along with a dozen students from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. TDTU is one of the top research universities in Vietnam.

The students had the opportunity to learn about labor unions and labor law in Vietnam. Guest speakers included the Dean of the TDTU Labor School, as well as members of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Respect Vietnam, and Better Work Vietnam. Also participating was the Dean of the Finnish International School Elementary through High School on the TDTU campus.

Topics included: Negotiations, Conflict Resolution, Communications and Health and Safety Systems.

Guest instructors from the United States included Roberta Gainer UAW Local 774, Nellie J. Brown, CIH, The Worker Institute at Cornell and Art Wheaton from the Scheinman Institute.
