Changing business and employment models in the small package delivery industry are provoking upheaval. ICS and ILR partners are conducting a pilot study of this "last-mile" portion of the logistics industry to lay the foundations for a wider research effort. We will address labor acquisition and retention issues in a changing service field, populated by a widening variety of employment models, from unionized workforces to independent constrictors.
