International Study

Each year, nearly 100 ILR students take advantage of study abroad opportunities to increase their academic, personal, and global perspectives. The ILR School offers three different options for students to gain international experience, while earning academic credit. An overview of each program is listed below:

Exchange opportunities with partner universities in Australia, China, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom Collaboration between ILR School and the Quinn School of Business at University College Dublin (UCD) University-wide office that serves students from all colleges who are interested in study abroad opportunities
Exchange options for a semester, full-year, or during the summer in China Special emphasis on important issues of the workplace affecting EU countries, with special study trip to the European Parliament in Brussels Students may study in one of the programs that is sponsored by Cornell, or in one sponsored by another institutions and endorsed by Cornell
Available to ILR juniors or seniors in good academic standing; summer program at Renmin University of China is available for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and rising seniors Fall semester only. Available to ILR juniors or seniors in good academic standing Over the past five years, nearly 200 ILR students have studied in 86 different university or programs in: Africa, Asia, Australia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe
Students will continue to pay ILR tuition at the same in-state or out-of-state rate as they do when they are in residence at the Ithaca campus Students will continue to pay ILR tuition at the same in-state or out-of-state rate as they do when they are in residence at the Ithaca campus Study abroad options for a semester or full-year
Students can earn up to 15 credits, which can be applied towards ILR elective requirements (ideal for transfer students) Students earn a minimum of 12 credits which can be applied toward ILR elective requirements Students may satisfy up to nine credits of ILR elective requirements in a single semester abroad and up to 15 credits in a year of foreign study
