Professional Work History

Currently a practicing attorney with specialized knowledge and experience working with labor, workplace and employment law matters and the fiduciary, securities, tax and financial accounting rules applicable to retirement, healthcare, compensation and employee benefit programs. Part-time Administrative Law Judge with NYC’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH). Conduct hearings and write decisions for cases involving alleged violations of local NYC laws and the rules administered by the City’s many different enforcement agencies, including the Departments of Buildings, Police, Fire, Health, Environmental Protection, Parks, Sanitation, Consumer Affairs and the Landmarks Preservation and Taxi and Limousine Commissions, among others. Impartial Hearing Officer with the NY State Education Department. Preside over hearings requested by either parents or school districts on matters relating to the identification, evaluation or educational placement of a student with a disability, or the provision of a free and appropriate public education to the student as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Recently completed 30-year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), an international business advisory services firm. PwC partner for nearly 25 years and served as the US Leader for the firm’s Human Resource and Employee Benefit consulting practice with more than 350 lawyers, accountants and actuaries. Provided technical advice and consulting services to domestic and multinational companies on matters involving tax, ERISA and employment-related issues and designed and implemented compensation and employee benefit programs.

Dispute Resolution Experience

Member of the Mediation Panel for the US District Court for the Southern District of NY. Mediate complex employment discrimination, FLSA, Title VII and ADA cases. Certified mediator at both the NY Peace Institute and the NY Center for Interpersonal Development Arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the New York City Civil Court system. Member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts MediateArt program.
