“You do not need a policy labeled 'mental health day' to take care of your mental health,” explains Ashley Bryant, workplace disability inclusion associate at ILR’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, discussing common options for taking a mental health day and employee rights.

“What we try to do is provide data and information as up to date as possible based on the best data sources we have available,” said Bill Erickson, senior research specialist, discussing DisabilityStatistics.org, a website with free maps and charts of disability data, published through ILR’s Yang-Tan Institute.

“We’ve seen great candidates really get lost when employers rely too heavily on those types of indicators to reach new talent,” says Ellice Switzer, program director, inclusive workplaces, at ILR’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, discussing the importance of evaluating applicants’ skills, not just education or experience.
