Speech wins big at AFA national tournament
The Cornell speech team wins 6th place nationally!
Cornell Speech won big at the 2024 American Forensics Association national tournament! The group won 6th place in team sweepstakes among 58 talented schools. We also enjoyed individual success: sophomores Anya K, Rushika Prasad, and Hannah Quigley broke several events to quarterfinals, while sophomore Ian Gilenson won 6th place in Extemporaneous Speaking. A special congratulations to senior Asha Prabhat, national champion in Persuasive Speaking and 3rd place overall speaker; junior Jaliah Smith, 14th place overall speaker; and senior Margot Treadwell, national champion in Impromptu Speaking.
