Speech Team Attends Tournament in Austin, Texas
Cornell speakers attain success at competitive tournament
Leading up to the semester, the Cornell Speech Team competed in the Hell Froze Over tournament in Austin, Texas. 11 Cornell speakers attended the highly competitive winter break tournament, including 6 novices. Cornell found success with 4 speakers reaching semifinals: Asha Prabhat and Sydney Browne in Persuasive Speaking, Scott Siegel in Impromptu Speaking, and Margot Treadwell in After Dinner Speaking. In addition, Margot reached finals on Day 1, placing 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking and 2nd in Communication Analysis. The team will build on this success through the spring semester as they prepare for their national tournaments in March and April.
