Policy Takes On JV Novice Nationals
Cornell Policy's Novice and JV teams take on the competition in West Virginia
From March 1st to March 3rd, the policy debate team traveled to West Virginia for the JV and Novice Nationals tournament.
At the last seasonal tournament for our novice and JV debaters, the competition was incredibly tough. However, our novice and JV teams took it in stride, with many teams finishing. In the novice division, Mia Barratt & Piper Kohlenberger finished 3rd, Sean Sung & Oscar Zhuo finished 6th, Sarah Thacker & Ben Casella finished 9th, and Noor Jehan Ahmad & Matthew Dye finished 10th. For individual awards, Piper Kohlenberger won 6th best speaker.
This was an incredible finish to a successful season for the Cornell Policy Debate Novice and JV teams. While the season news may be over for our these teams, be on the lookout for news about varsity team Praveen Gunendran and Devansh Jotsinghani, who qualified for the 2024 National Debate Tournament, which will take place from April 4th - 8th.
