Cornell Competes in 2023 World Universities Debating Championships Madrid

The Cornell British Parliamentary Team sent 3 teams and 2 judges to championship in Spain

Cornell sent 3 teams and 2 judges to the 2023 WUDC in Madrid, Spain. With 256 teams from all over the world, WUDC is the most competitive and prestigious BP tournament in the world. Cornell Team A was Eli Pallrand (A&S '24) and Meg Kandarpa (ILR '23). Cornell Team B was Ram Orfanel (A&S '25) and Ben Kim (A&S '25). Cornell Team C was Isabel Orlando (A&S '25) and Abigel Manaye (A&S '24). Cornell also sent two judges, Gaveal Fan (A&S '25) and Júlia Garcia Güell (MILR '24).

Cornell debaters Eli and Meg (Cornell A) broke 47th among all teams and ended in Partial-Double Octofinals. Júlia broke a judge and paneled in Open Semifinals.

The team looks forward to returning to domestic competition during the Spring semester, including Novice Nationals.
