
Cornell Speech Team Competes at National Speech Tournament
Six students qualified and attended the American Forensic Association National Speech Tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska during the first weekend in April
The Cornell Speech Team spent the first weekend of spring break in Lincoln, Nebraska, competing in the American Forensic Association National Tournament. Six students qualified for this most competitive nationals, which requires a top rank in two regular season tournaments.
Students competed in public address and limited preparation events, including Persuasion, Informative, Communication Analysis, Impromptu, Extemporaneous, and After Dinner Speaking. Sophomore Margot Treadwell broke to quarterfinals in Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking.
Senior Chloe Washabaugh was recognized as graduating senior in District 7.
