Microsoft Defender is the built-in, free antivirus software for Windows that will be automatically installed and maintained by Windows Update if no other antivirus software is installed. ILR Technology Services recommends this free version for self-managed ILR-owned and personally-owned Windows computers. It is simple to run and meets the requirements for Policy 5.10.
