Cunningham Facilitates Climate Change and Offshore Wind (OSW) Training
Zach Cunningham, the Worker Institute's Labor Leading on Climate Training and Education Extension Associate, delivers Climate Change and Offshore Wind (OSW) Training to New York union leaders.
The Worker Institute’s Labor Leading on Climate Initiative continues to deliver its “Climate Jobs and Offshore Wind (OSW)” training in partnership with Climate Jobs NY and the NYC Central Labor Council (CLC), AFL-CIO.
On Wednesday, February 17th, the Worker Institute Extension Associate, Zach Cunningham, delivered the training to more than 20 union leaders from across Long Island and other parts of New York State. To date, over 75 union leaders and members have participated.
The training equips unionists with the knowledge and confidence needed to engage in public debates and decision-making on climate change, clean energy, and offshore wind. Through small group discussion, individual reflection, and lecture, participants wrestle with tough questions and strategize how to create a green economy that centers working families and creates quality, union jobs.
Over the next several months, the Labor Leading on Climate team, in collaboration with Climate Jobs NY and the Long Island Federation of Labor, will roll out this training to union locals throughout Long Island.
