Professional Work History:

2004 – Present: Eagleson Alternative Dispute Resolution - 30 years of experience in the field of labor and employee relations.  Provided representation to both labor and management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including the negotiation and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements, discipline cases,  mediations, fact-finding and interest arbitration proceedings.  Comprehensive knowledge in Collective Bargaining, the National Labor Relations Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act and the Family Medical Leave Act. 

Extensive experience in labor and employment issues in  Academia, Behavioral Health, County Government, Corrections, Education, Federal Government, Fire, Health Care, Insurance Industry, Municipal Government, Police, Public Works, Nuclear Energy, Social Services, State Government, and Utilities.

Appointed to serve as an arbitrator and mediator on the following panels: American Arbitration Association Employment and Labor panels, California State Mediation and Conciliation Service, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Cornell University Panel of Neutrals. 

2011 – Present  Adjunct Instructor: Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations - Teach Employment Law Mediator training, Negotiation Skills and Interest Based Bargaining courses. 

1996 – Present Senior Adjunct Professor: University of La Verne’s School of Business and Public Management - Teach Collective Bargaining, Management Negotiations, Business Negotiations, Mediation and Conflict Management courses.  Mike’s notable achievement for the University include creating the curriculum for the University’s Mediation and Business Negotiation courses. 

Dispute Resolution Experience

2001 – 2018: Hearing Board for California Concealed Weapon (CCW) Denial/Revocation hearings. Panel member on several hearings dealing with the denial or removal of concealed weapon permits for Peace Officers.

2006 – Present: Mediator. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 

2015 – 2017: Standing Arbitrator / Trial Board . Office and Professional Employees International Union. Presided over several hearings dealing with disciplinary matters of the Hawaii Nurses Association.
