Speech Qualifies in New Events and Prepares to Host Tournament
Cornell placed 3rd on Sunday at the Charlotte Motor Speechway Tournament, with Quals in DUO, Impromptu and Info. Cornell will host the virtual Big Red Tournament of Love on February 20th.
For their first tournament of the Spring Semester, the Cornell Speech Team competed in a two day swing tournament. The first day was the Charlotte Motor Speechway Tournament, while the second was the 4th SNAFU of the season. The tournament was fully virtual, but team members were able to compete in classrooms on campus. Across the two days, the team had top finishers in Duo, Impromptu, Informative, and Communication Analysis. On the Sunday, Cornell placed 3rd overall. Two students competed for the first time, entering Extemporaneous and Impromptu Speaking. Overall, the weekend resulted in Quals in DUO, Impromptu and Informative Speaking.
The Cornell Speech team is now preparing to host the virtual Big Red Tournament of Love on February 20th.
