Speech wins big at Virginia is for Lovers
Winning both the team and individual sweepstakes, Cornell Speech is on fire!
On February 6th and 7th, the Speech team traveled to the spring iteration of the Virginia is for Lovers Tournament hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. The team of 11 students excelled across all three genres of competitions. Over the two days of competition, the team broke 40 individual entries to finals. Winning 6 of the 11 events on both days, the team took first place in the Combined Team Sweepstakes. Additionally, the team had a three way tie for individual sweepstakes between Cornell debaters Anna Cecilia Fierro, Sophia Trapani, and Anya Khanna.
After these huge successes, the Speech team is looking forward to traveling to Greece for more international competition.
