Speech takes home 2nd overall at Crimson Classic

In Alabama, Cornell Speech dominates with only 10 students.

On October 12th, the Cornell Speech team traveled to Tuscaloosa to compete in the Dr. Frank M. Thompson Jr. Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama. With a small squad of ten students, Cornell advanced 30 entries to the final round of competition. The team secured three tournament championships, with Anna Cecilia Fierro winning Persuasive Speaking and Sophia Gerrans winning both After Dinner Speaking and going straight 1s in Extemporaneous Speaking. These many successes ultimately earned Cornell Speech second place in the Overall Team Sweepstakes.

Overall, Cornell Speech had a strong finish and is looking forward to their district 7 tournament, where students can earn their qualifications for spring nationals.
