Speech finishes top 3 at Hell Froze over!
At the largest, most competitive invitational of the season, the Speech team shows their strength.
From January 16th-18th, Cornell’s Speech Team travelled to Peoria, Illinois, to compete at the Hell Froze Over Invitational Tournament hosted by Bradley University. At the nation's largest and most competitive invitational, the team earned a top three finish in overall sweepstakes. Cornell advanced several students to the semifinals, and ultimately ended with 11 events in the final round of competition. In extemporaneous, Hayden Watkins and Ian Gilenson competed, with Ian Gilenson taking 3rd place. In impromptu, Sophia Gerrans finished in 2nd place. For Prose Interpretation, Sofia Spillane earned a tournament championship in Prose Interpretation.
In February, the team will head to George Mason University to compete in the spring version of the Virginia is for Lovers tournament.
