Cornell Speech starts the season off strong at VAFL
Speech Team wins big in Virginia!
On October 4th, the Cornell Speech team traveled to the annual Virginia is For Lovers Fall Tournament hosted at James Madison University. Overall, the team advanced 36 events to finals and took home 6 tournament championships. Anna Cecilia Fierro won both Dramatic Interpretation and Persuasive Speaking, as well as Duo Interpretation alongside Calvin Carpenter. Additionally, Sophia Gerrans championed Impromptu Speaking and Informative Speaking, while Charlotte Reitman championed Extemporaneous Speaking.
Overall, Cornell Speech finished the weekend strong and made an exciting start to their competition season. The team is very excited to get back on the road and follow up this winning performance at their next tournament in Alabama.
