Cornell Policy Team takes on the Naval Academy
From January 13th to 15th, the policy team debated in Annapolis.
This weekend, the Cornell Policy Debate Team attended the Crowe Warken Debate Tournament at the United States Naval Academy. Three novice teams traveled and competed at this winter tournament. Despite the snowy weather and high competition, all teams broke into the elimination rounds. Absa Diop and Oscar Zhuo became semi-finalists, Mia Barratt and Piper Kohlenberger became quarterfinalists, and Sarah Thacker and Ben Casella also became quarterfinalists.
Furthermore, four of these debaters placed in the top ten speakers at this tournament: Absa Diop won 4th, Piper Kohlenberger won 5th, Oscar Zhuo won 9th, and Mia Barratt won 10th.
