Objective
The Board leads ILRAA efforts to reconnect with, learn from, inspire and serve ILRies on campus, in their cities and around the world. Committed Board volunteers oversee an exciting mix of programming and events, including:
- Social Events - Meet old and new friends at fun local events
- Professional Development & Networking – Build your network as you upskill with established and emerging leaders in the field; meet, advise and learn from current ILR students and recent graduates through student/alumni programs and mentoring opportunities
- Academic Exploration – Learn the latest on trending topics from ILR faculty and experts
- Service Projects – Give back with other ILRies

Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable and conversant about ILR. Stay informed about current programs, initiatives and priorities. (Admissions, academics, development, outreach, etc.)
- Support ILR events with your attendance. Get involved with your local chapter, aiding your Chapter Chair(s) as you can.
- Encourage Alumni Association membership and event attendance on the part of others with your commitment, enthusiasm, energy and new ideas.
- Assist with ILR Alumni Association leadership by planning events and through service on special committees.
- Attend ILR's awards dinners, Groat/Alpern, etc.
Time Commitment
- Regular terms are for three years.
- Three 2-3 hour board meetings each year (9 hours per year, max)
- Event attendance (in-person and/or virtual) with varied time commitment based on personal preference and interest, e.g., a few hours to planning and execution of event
- Annual Groat & Alpern Awards, 3 hours every March/April

Staff support for the ILR Alumni Association is provided by Sarah Heavens-Soda, ILR Alumni Affairs, located at 309 Ives Hall on Campus.
