LDI seeks its next Research Aide and Replication Lab Supervisor

Opportunity for a savvy pre-doc to join LDI's Replication Lab

We are looking to hire a pre-doc for the role of "Research Aide & Replication Lab Supervisor"!

Working alongside Dr. Lars Vilhuber, Data Editor for the American Economic Association, the team collectively reviews about 500 top economics papers per year, conditionally accepted at the 8 AEA journals, for data provenance, documentation, and computational reproducibility.

The pre-doc will also:

  • explore cutting edge computing techniques that will facilitate computational social science research.
  • assists authors in depositing data, including sensitive and confidential data;
  • interact with hundreds of researchers from around the world every year.

The role involves close collaboration with the Data Editor to supervise student workers, work independently on replication projects, and serve as a team leader to a team of student replication researchers. Responsibilities include research, writing and analysis; independent academic replication; project planning and coordination.

The position provides an excellent opportunity to review research at the forefront of the Economics discipline, and observe and learn about statistical coding in economics. Additionally, the Pre-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to engage with Cornell faculty, attend departmental seminars, take courses, and participate in other educational opportunities offered to pre-doctoral fellows in the social sciences at Cornell.

This is a in-person position open to US citizens and legal residents. We cannot sponsor visas.

We strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented and/or marginalized identities, as well those from institutions that do not traditionally offer Ph.D. programs in economics.
