Job opportunity: Assisting with developing community partnerships (high schools, trade schools) to increase hiring pipeline. Veteran recruiting initiatives. Depending on student interest there are LR related projects: drafting contract language for upcoming negotiation, assisting with grievances and contract administration.
Minimum qualifications: The location is accessible by the trolley which serves some of the more popular locations. We would not be providing housing unless this is a requirement of WISP participation.

Job opportunity: This unique internship for ILR juniors and seniors is designed by ILR alumni for those students who may be interested in a career in labor and employment law and will benefit from a practical overview of the labor and employment law field. We will select three students to work in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., or New York City. Each applicant must specify his or her preferred location, in order of preference. The internship program includes: • Two-week paid internship ($500/week) • Introduction to attorneys who will provide overviews of practice areas, including:  Defense of individual and class action discrimination claims • Labor-management relations matters • Department of Labor regulatory issues • Wage and hour lawsuits, including nationwide collective actions; Employee benefits litigation; Immigration law; Employer training programs. Our three interns will spend their first day in Philadelphia receiving an overview of the various practice area specialties. The New York and Washington, D.C. interns will travel to Philadelphia by train accompanied by a Morgan Lewis attorney and will return home at the end of the day. The remaining portion of the internship program will involve a specific assignment dealing with timely legal issues as well as interaction with labor and employment attorneys in their offices, including “shadowing” where available.
Minimum qualifications: Candidates must be currently enrolled in their Junior or Senior academic year at the Cornell University ILR School and be in good academic standing. Candidates must be self-motivated, be committed to excellence in the workplace, and have exceptional attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential. An interest in labor and employment law is highly desired. Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications. If selected for an internship, successful candidates will be will be asked to complete a background check that will include a criminal history investigation as well as an education and employment verification. Morgan Lewis also requires all employees submit a Conflicts Form, listing any company/organization for which they have knowledge of confidential matters.
