Why did you choose the MILR program?

I chose the MILR program because of the immense talent and wealth of knowledge offered at the ILR School. The publications by the faculty and researchers at the Worker Institute have greatly impacted my work and understanding of what it means to be a union organizer. Moreover, it was the foundational reason for pursuing a career in the labor movement. To work with and learn from ILR's faculty is an inimitable opportunity.

What is your favorite part of the MILR Program?

My favorite part about the MILR program thus far is the support and friendship of the other students in my cohort. Coming back to school after working for four years can be daunting, but my classmates in the program are excellent about challenging and supporting one another, both in and out of the classroom.

What is your favorite class so far?

My favorite class so far is Constitutional Aspects of Labor and Employment with Professor Risa Lieberwitz. I really enjoy exploring the history and evolution of workers' rights in America through a constitutional lens.

What is your favorite part of Ithaca?

My favorite parts of Ithaca are my neighborhood, Fall Creek, and the trails around Beebe Lake. The views from the Sackett Footbridge in the fall are amazing.

What advice would you give to a prospective student?

It's never too early to apply! Also don't be afraid to reach out to current students about their experiences in the program.

What are your career goals after completing the program?

After graduation, I plan on going back into the labor movement as a researcher working on comprehensive campaigns for a labor union.
