Prospective Ph.D. students are encouraged to visit campus. When you visit, we want you to be able to take full advantage of the opportunities to interact with current students, faculty, and staff, and to sit-in on a class.
During the academic year, we strongly recommend that you plan your visit for a day between Monday and Thursday, as MILR's do not have classes scheduled on Friday. For the same reason, we do not recommend visiting during weekends or academic holidays (see the Cornell Academic Calendar for a list of academic holidays).
|Semester||Available Visit Date Range||Scheduling for Semester Begins|
|Fall||September 1 to November 30 (excluding weekends)||1 business week before September 1|
|Spring||February 1 to April 30 (excluding weekends)||1 business week before February 1|
To schedule your visit, please complete the Campus Visit Request Form at least two weeks in advance of your planned visit.
The graduate student visit coordinator will contact you to determine which activities can be arranged for you during your visit. Some of the optional activities that may be available during your visit include:
- Meet with the ILR Graduate Programs Office
- Meet with one faculty member in your area of interest
- Have a student-guided tour of the ILR School
- Have lunch with a graduate student
- Go on a tour of the central Cornell University campus
