Verizon Kicks Off International Compensation Working Groups

On April 22, 2010, Verizon Communications hosted the first of a series of CAHRS working groups on International Compensation. Participants came from a diverse set of firms in terms of size, industries, and regions, and included representation from Verizon Communications, Tyco International, Amazon.com, Air Products and Chemicals, Terex Corp., and Tyco Electronics.

Although participants brought different backgrounds to the discussion, the meeting still covered a host of common themes. The group discussed a variety of topics in international compensation and benefits, including culture, communication, repatriation, retention and turnover, benefits, legal issues, tax and institutional issues and executive compensation. The working group was facilitated by Kevin Hallock, CAHRS director of research and professor of HR Studies and Labor Economics. Hallock and CAHRS extend their thanks to Alan Gardner and his staff at Verizon for their wonderful hospitality.

CAHRS partners have the opportunity to attend two forthcoming working groups on compensation issues:

  • International Compensation in London, UK | Host TBA | June 17

Join the CAHRS Compensation network: We invite individuals in CAHRS partner companies who oversee compensation issues to join a network of their peers in other partner firms.
