Students, Professors Honored

More than 25 students and five professors were honored at ILR's 20th annual McPherson Honors and Awards event.

Faculty members were nominated by their students for exemplary teaching and mentoring awards, and students were selected by faculty for outstanding scholarship, leadership and service to the community.

Seniors who are candidates for graduation with the honors designation, which includes completion of a research project and thesis, were also recognized during Thursday's program at the Statler Hotel.

Professor George Boyer, the school’s director of teaching, and Student Services Director Laura Lewis led the program.

  • Eli Friedman, MacIntyre Award for Exemplary Teaching 
  • Paul Velleman, MacIntyre Award for Exemplary Teaching 
  • Liz Karns, Robert N. Stern Mentoring Award 
  • David Lipsky, Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellowship

Students receiving awards were:

  • Jonathan Weinberg ’13, Irving M. Ives Senior Award 
  • Erica Mildner ’13, John O’Donnell Prize in Labor Law 
  • Jessica Reif ’13, Salvatore Family Prize in American History 
  • Todd Dickey MS ’13/Ph.D. ’14, Seidman Prize 
  • Leighann George ’13, Seidman Prize 
  • Shane Seppinni ’13, Edward M. Snyder Prize in Statistics
