Social Justice Career Fair Slated for March 18

Each spring, the Social Justice Career Fair gives Cornell students the opportunity to learn about summer and full-time job opportunities with labor unions, social justice organizations, advocacy groups and others. This year’s fair will be noon to 4 p.m. March 18 in the Statler Hotel’s Carrier Ballroom.

The fair is open to all Cornell students. Log into Handshake to register and to see the list of groups that will be represented.

“The Social Justice Career Fair is a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with representatives from a wide variety of social justice-focused organizations,” said Marcia Harding Zeller, associate director of ILR’s Office of Career Services. “It’s important to prepare for career fairs by having résumés reviewed before handing them out, researching attending organizations, and being able to articulate skills and experiences.”

To help prepare for the event, the Office of Career Services encourages students to attend its March 11 workshop, Navigating the Social Justice Career Fair.

“Not all career fairs are the same,” Harding Zeller said. “We will discuss nuances and answer any questions students have about the fair and the types of roles that might be available.”
